RailsConf 2009 Registration Opens - Las Vegas in May
David Heinemeier Hansson has just announced that RailsConf 2009 is open for registration. In a break from tradition, RailsConf moves from Portland to Las Vegas this year - specifically the Las Vegas Hilton (it's on the monorail line so don't bother hiring a car). It takes place from Monday, May 4th through Thursday, May 7th.
2009 will be a big year for RailsConf, not just because of the big move, but because Rails 3.0 is going to become a big deal. David will undoubtedly be giving a keynote on Rails 3.0 and members of the Merb team will be there. Previously, David has said that Rails 3.0 should be visible in a pre-release form at the conference, so there'll probably be a focus on that.
Until March 16, registration costs $695 for the conference sessions only or $825 for conference sessions plus the tutorial day. Alternatively, you can get a free entry to the exhibition space only and attend Cabooseconf, the free hacker-focused part of RailsConf.
If you want to speak at RailsConf, now's the time to be thinking about that too. Proposals will be accepted up until February 17th, 2009.
